Thank you, Michael, very much for the information about QE2 Day.  It does sound very nice and certainly most appropriate that QE2 should receive special recognition !   :)

This is fantastic news - great addition to what already looks like being a great crossing. QE2 must've been on my mind today. When the immigration official at Heathrow today asked about my lack of a return ticket to the US, I proudly declared that I was returning on QE2 sounding very much like Hyacinth Bouquet. Wishful thinking!

I could do Liverpool at a pinch, but would far rather do Southampton.
Are there any other QE2 Voyagers able to be in Southampton on the 2nd July to see the Mary off on her Voyage to Liverpool prior to the Atlantic Crossing?
I was Lucky enough to be on the Elizabeth when the three Queens met in Liverpool on the 25th of may last. However it should have been 4 SHIPS.

The QE2 was very conspicuous by her absence.

QE2 as a floating Hotel? Stuff and nonsense. The ship should be sailing. Whilst she may perhaps not be able to do the big voyages anymore,
smaller ones in Europe could be more that feasible and would be sold out consistently.

This is great news - pity the presentation couldn't be streamed back onto this forum.

Oh yes it could! What I would need would be a Black Magic Movie Camera - see their website. A passage for two paid for by Cunard so I could do this  - fat chance of that! Suitable lighting equipment, and a link to the net via an Apple Mac computer.

By the way you all should know that you cannot have YOU OWN DIGITAL OR OTHERWISE PHOTOGRAPHS printed on 'Cunard' ships anymore.

When I was on the Elizabeth for the three Queens SHOULD- HAVE BEEN FOUR- voyage where we met up in Liverpool, I lodged a complaint about this. I am still waiting for the 'baboons' in carnival HQ UK in Southampton to get back to me on this one.

Given the friends I met yesterday in Liverpool who are onboard QM2, I'm sure that today will be filled with stories and memories of QE2. I am so  disappointed I'm missing the day, have a great time and enjoy this wonderful  liner on this special birthday cruise.
