I bought this book this week (with enclosed fabulous data DVD) after seeing it on Amazon.

I can't express how wonderful it is.  I completely lost an hour standing with my coat still on, looking through it last night.

The audio recording of the final voyage is superb, haunting hearing her whistles blow.

If she was properly preserved somewhere, my goodness, that would be something.  The interiors are stunning in the photographs... thank goodness for colour photography!

I wonder if the above mentioned book is the same or similar to the one I bought last year:

RMS QUEEN ELIZABETH, CUNARD'S BIG BEAUTIFUL SHIP OF LIFE.  Ringo Varisco.
From Blurb Books. Currently priced at £139.

I certainly hesitated before buying this book, but the photographs are stunning, and most of them were previously unseen by me. I've not started reading it thoroughly yet. There is a detailed section dealing with the liner's overhaul in Hong Kong harbour, with photos of the interior taken whilst work was ongoing. Very interesting. The photos of the ship in her Cunard prime, some of them printed over two pages, are really impressive.  Altogether, a magnificent book. I'm glad I bought it!

I believe it's a cut down version... I'll try to find Ringo's reply when I asked him they question.

I read your book on board Queen Mary 2, it's in their library, it's a magnificent thing.
