January 2017 -- QE2 Queen's Room (closed)

This month's theme is "QE2 Queen's Room", chosen by Cunarder Man, the winner of the October competition.

Spoilt for choice! The design of the Queen's Room over the decades, the decor of the room, the activities enjoyed there (e.g. afternoon tea, performances, formal receptions and drinks, gala balls), the passengers enjoying them, the crew making them possible... and so much more!

The prize this month is the book QE2 Queen Elizabeth 2, the Authorised Story by Neil Potter and Jack Frost, donated by Isabelle Prondzynski :

Alternatively, June has also offered as a prize the jigsaw version of the winning photo. It will be interesting to see which is preferred!

The album is open -  so now is the time to look for your most interesting pictures on this theme. Wishing you happy memories as you search your photo collection to find up to three pictures to upload to the competition album.

Good to see photos in the Gallery Album for this month's photo competition "QE2 Queen's Room".  Such a beautiful QE2 public room with many happy memories of afternoon tea, dancing and Captain's cocktail parties.  Looking forward to seeing lots of photos for this theme

Just a few days left to enter photos for the Queen's Room competition.

Not many entered so far, and yet I am sure that there are numerous photos of this great place where so much happened in the lives of those on board. The Queen's Room was really an inescapable place, with afternoon teas, Captain's receptions and various other activities such as art auctions and line dancing. And then, it had the beautiful promenades, where one could sit and enjoy the sea through those large windows while sipping a tea or a cocktail...

Let us bring together all those lovely memories!
