Congratulations to the winner of the September photo competition "QE2 External Features"
Louis Phillippe Capelle's brilliant picture  "Bow at 25 Knots"

Congratulation also to the runner up, which is Stowaway 2k's picture "Tenderly"

I was only eighteen the first time I stepped onboard QE2 in 1968. She was a thoroughly modern lady and I fell in love with her.

Congratulations to Louis Phillippe Capelle for his winning photo of "Bow at 25 Knots" and to Stowaway 2k for the runner up photo "Tenderly".  Both are suberb and so well represent our QE2 from power to serenity.

All of the entered photos were really great and let's continue to add photos to each month's competitions for all to enjoy, to continue building our QE2 gallery, and to work toward next year's calendar which is sure to be super !

I agree, both of these are superb!

I would love to hear more from Louis-Philippe about how his fabulous picture was made... this must have taken weeks, if not months, of preparation...

The October competition, on the theme of "Legend", brought us some wonderful winning photos.

The clear winner was Cunarder Man with his picture "A True Legend".

Very different, and equally illustrative of the theme, was the runner-up, Pete Hamill, with "Symmetry" :

Once again, the competition brought in a range of beautiful photos on a theme dear to our hearts here in this Forum. Congratulations and thanks to all who entered pictures and all who voted!

Congratulations John.

That photo says it all.

Thanks Pete & June and to all who voted!

The photograph was taken in August 2004 in Malaga whilst on a cruise to the Med. I have used the picture as a screen saver for sometime and just love to see her when I turn on the PC.

There are always magnificent pictures posted in the monthly competition and I would encourage everyone to have a go.

Thanks again
John

This month it's a tie for the top prize in the photo competition.

Skilly's lovely midnight scene, which still seems so familiar, everything tidy and in its place :

Peaceful Port Boat Deck at Midnight

And Hamburger's great view across during the tandem crossing, QE2 with all lights blazing :

Westbound

The runner-up was my Chart Room promenade at night :

Thank you all for sending entries, for enjoying the photos and for voting!

Well done all three!

There was always something special about the ship at night. Always somewhere quiet to chill out and prepare for the next day's activities.
