Positions of QE2 since 26.11.2008
« on: Nov 18, 2015, 09:07 PM »
Mapping the positions of QE2 - from 26.11.2008 to present day.

Wouldn't this be useful both to Forum readers as well as those arriving in Dubai who might like to be pointed in the right direction?

Having tried to find an image of the docks, only to find that it's difficult to get a clear image for posting here - this is an appeal to anyone who might be willing to post a clever graphic, with dates, arrows and passages

Robs Timeline lists the dates - July August 2009 - readying for Capetown - she was in Dry dock
then - back alongside where cruise ships are berthed

September 2010 moved to Inner Harbour

January 2013 - moved to Dry Dock area

August 2015 moved to another berth - possibly opposite where she was in 2010
Have any other moves been missed?

This is Excellent!
Thank you.

When you have time - please do you think it might be possible to repeat it again, next time with the docks a little smaller and including just a small amount of the surrounding area - with landmarks, for example - just the airport and tallest building pegged as well?
It could be useful too, to have a mini compass - just an arrow pointing North would be great as well..
Hoping this won't be too much trouble!

Thanks for starting this topic Twinkle and thanks also to Queen Elizabeth 2 for taking time to mark on the google map and list where she has been docked since her time in Dubai.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

The first Google Earth capture of QE2 was on the 15th August 2009 showing the ship afloat at Berth 5 within the Dubai Dry Docks
