Louis thanks for posting the link to some of the amazing menu covers from your collection.  You are very fortunate to have had the opportunity to collect these.  I only have one menu cover which pales into insignificance when I see your collection, but I have attached.

Hello Louis

Was there specific information about the place or occasion within the menus? or just the menu for the day? The graphics are wonderful and make a good keepsake.

What a superb collection, Louis!

I have just gone through them by slideshow :

Do we know anything about how these menu covers were created? Was the design work done on board by a resident artist? Or were they prepared on land and sent to the ship? I suppose there was a colour printer available to do the physical printing...

I don't believe I was ever on board for one of these special occasions... great to get the chance now to see them here!

I was so interested in the wonderful design of your menu covers Louis that I bought 8 menu covers from the 1980's on ebay and I am delighted with my purchase.  Now I need to look for more.

Do you know if the menu covers were only for world cruises?

In my early days of cruising you had a lavish menu printed on card with a nice cover for dinner and the same standard menu for breakfast, then a paper menu inserted into a folder for lunch.
Then again in later years Cunard resorted to just printing the menus and then they were inserted into cardboard folder, some were nice, and some were not so nice.
  Those were the days..... ;)
