2012 Archive - And the Winners are .......
« on: Jul 01, 2011, 10:08 AM »
Thank you for everyone who competed and voted for the May Photo Competition.  The standard of photos submitted was just spectacular.

We have joint winners for our first competition and as we need to select more than one photo each month for this year's calendar we have decided that they should be joint winners.

An the winners are .........

Highlander -  Final Call to Manhattan
Stowaway 2K - New York January 2008

I will be contacting them to ask them to choose the topics for August and September.  Look out for details of the topic for the July Photo of the Month and the voting poll for the June competition which will be posted later today.

Thank you everyone!   :)
How nice to share the "joint winner" with Highlander, whose company I have enjoyed as a QE2 shipmate on a couple of crossings.

I have PM'd Lynda with a contest topic suggestion.  ;)

CONGRATULATIONS, Ken and Kyle!  :)
These are stunning photos - QE2 in her element - or, in one of them - at least!
and it's generous of you to have shared them with us.
Rosie.

QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for what seemed like ages...Please don't leave her looking more like a Hotel-with-a-Hull than the greatest Liner afloat - Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.

Honored to share the podium with Stowaway2k!  The January 2008 winter crossing was my first crossing in which I was warmly welcomed into the Winter Crossing Club and got my wish to experience QE2 in some decent seas, doing what she was designed to do ( abeit at a slower pace).  It was the best 7 days at sea doing nothing.  ;)

... many thanks to those who voted for me
I want to join in to say thank you as well, who ever voted for my foto. It's an honour for me as an Austrian to be allowed in this competition. Being 2nd is absolutely great to me among so many camera specialists and seasoned QE2 ers. Thank you!

I am honoured if my picture is to grace the new calendar with so many other great shots.  Since the day I met Sir Basil Smallpiece in John Brown's Yard when he arrived to see where his new great ship was to be built I never realised how much just how much the QE2 would flit in and out of my life.        Thank you again, and good luck to all concerned with The QE2 Story.   Fraser Ballantyne /Frazscot
