Tall ships weekend - roll call
« on: Dec 27, 2010, 01:52 PM »
Please indicate if you think you'll be attending this weekend, and how likely it is.

once it gets closer to the time, we'll try to be more specific e.g. for friday night drinkies or whatever sub-events we feel like planning.

All being well - yes,
and very much looking forward to it.
QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for what seemed like ages...Please don't leave her looking more like a Hotel-with-a-Hull than the greatest Liner afloat - Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.

If you have said you will probably be there let us know as soon as you decide you can definitely be there.

We will join you all at Greenock and meet you when you disembark Waverley.  Nice idea to go for a meal at the Tontine.
Looking forward to seeing you all again.

I also hope to be joining the gathering.

Thanks Robert.  It will be good to see you at the event.

If you think you will be joining us for a meal at the Tontine Hotel can you please let me know.  Because of the Tall Ship in Greenock over that week-end the hotel is very busy so we have had to book in advance.

Hi Folks,

I wont be attending the get together this year - but if you're eating at the Tontine you'll pass by my house (Patrick Street, just round the corner from the Tontine)!

Hope you all have a good day.

I don't think we are going to be able to make the Tall Ships Weekend.  I have been trying to get return flights from Brum up to Glasgow that leave on Sat am and return on Sat evening and there don't seem to be any.  We are due at a family birthday lunch in Cornwall at 12 pm on the Sunday so need to get to Glasgow and back in the day.  Would have really enjoyed it:((

Hollihedge, assuming there are no engineering works on the day it is possible to do that by train:

08.20 from Birmingham New Street - Carlisle 11.03 change there for 11.11 to Glasgow Central arrive 12.32.

18.40 Glasgow Central - Birmingham New Street 22.40.

If you do try this, don't miss the 18.40 as it's the last one south...
