Having always really appreciated the clever design - I found this:

Somehow it seems timeless - I wonder why and when it became 'past history'

Does anyone know whether badges or any other 'souvenirs' etc were made?

Most definitely. I believe that logo was used on most souvenirs, programmes, etc when she was first launched. Interestingly I have a friend who has a Wardroom cummerbund with that logo on. :)

Look at the monogram carefully and you'll see it reads QE2, not E2 as stated in the blurb for the medallion.

Thanks, Mauritania 1907!

I agree - it is clever and reflects much about the design ethos of QE2 then :)
It's a shame that it hasn't been kept in use,
'specially throughout the time (70's onwards) when 'logos' became the 'in thing'
I wonder why it was 'dropped'?
Maybe it was only ever meant solely for her Maiden Voyage....

I have always thought this was the best logo for the ship and the new owners should revive it - quite retro and very clever!

I got it put on a tshirt and polo shirt for our cruise last year - I really like the logo - also for people who DON'T know QE2, its not clear what it is, so not too "sad" and geeky!  The logo should have stayed on board (just like those doors and race chairs!) as part of the original QE2 charm, which would have actually become retro and cool again, even before she left service...

I also got a bit carried away and got it put on a pair of boxer shorts at the same time (it was just 1 more click !).   :-[  No I'm not posting any photos  ;D

I actually have it tattooed on the top of my right arm - so I will take the Old Girl to the grave with me! People come up to me in clubs and things and ask what does 'E1' stand for. They are the recipients of one of my looks....

I'm so pleased! Looks very good, and a decent size too. What an excellent idea that was.

Anyone following suit, please upload photos too!

Well, it appears that our fellow user flagship isn't the only one carrying QE2's vintage monogram. After having my tattoo done yesterday, I went online and came to find out another lister here..of all places, has one too...and on the same side! lol Pics to come later.
