Hello all!

Just popping into the Chart Room with a copy of my new book... Well, not quite - but I did get my first draft cover proof through today which I have displayed here:

http://www.qm2book.com/

I built the website today, so if you do notice anything not working to perfection please let me know!

Great cover Chris and waiting patiently for it to hit the shelves.  Will take at look at your website later.

Hi Chris.

I looked at the website and all seems well. I do hope to get a copy of QE2 Photographic journey. Southampton Tourist Information Centre had one copy left signed by you, but unfortunatly I didnt have room to bring it home.  Cry I was only travelling with a back pack. Still there are morecopies out there.

Amazon was showing another book by you called QE2 Story. Shame we've got to wait till Oct 2009.

Yep, looks good.  Any idea as yet when you expect the book to hit the shelves?

Looks very good! Where was the big photo taken? Thought it might be Flaam at first, not so sure now.

Hi Andy,

The next two books - The QE2 Story and QM2: A Photographic Journey - hit the shelves in October - can't wait to see them in print!

Thanks for the comments Smiley

It was taken in Pago Pago during QM2's Maiden World Cruise (2007) - I sailed aboard from San Francisco to Sydney. In Sydney we saw QE2 arrive for the Meeting of the Queens... it was a perfect day.

Pago Pago is an amazing place to photograph QM2. The mountains make for a magnificent background. QM2 was, by far, the biggest thing that the island had ever seen (sans the mountains) Wink

Thanks to all for the kind comments and for testing out the site.

It was when QE2 was anchored off Zakynthos during Mediterranean Sojourn in September 08 - I'm sure you remember it?

I am saving up for your book QE2 a photografic journey. What a pity no one did this in 1969, it would have been very interesting to compare the ship as built to what she is like at the moment.

I had a feeling it might be Zakynthos and yes, I certainly do remember it.  Great day, great lunch, great cruise and great fellow passengers!

After 7 years my website (Chris' Cunard Page) has had a much needed upgrade (I got some expert assistance from a web designer friend of mine). The new site can be seen here: http://www.chriscunard.com/index.php

And for QE2 visit: http://www.chriscunard.com/qe2.php

I'd love to hear feedback!

Cheers,

Chris.

I think the site is very well laid out. With the information on the vessels from QE2 up to the new QE.
Great to see a link to this forum on the home page Smiley
What struck me was where you said QE2 was a 'comfortable' ship. Although I never managed to go on her. from all the photo's and video clips I've seen of her over the years, that is exactly the feeling that comes across to me! You almost want to give her a cuddle.

Cheers.

Chris.

ok  Wink

excellent website.  Smiley

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I wonder about the banner headline "Cunard is the most historic passenger line in the world" as P&O has been around longer than Cunard.

Congratulations! Chris...
It's looking good.
Just like QE2 herself - Sophisticated, understated and never under-rated.

Hi Chris.... your website looks great after it's "refit".....always enjoy it......hey.. I have an idea... how about a daily blog while you are on Queen Victoria so we can follow you ...something like Ted Scull (from the World Ship Society)has done when he has been on board as a lecturer....would look forward to reading it.....just a thought....
