Of course there'll be photos. I won't be doing any travelling within the next few months, so you'll have to settle for photos of me wearing the badge in Singapore. Unless my mother does get stationed in China for a few weeks and I go there to accompany her.

With Isabelle in town for her Black Prince cruise, "Singlemalt" Ali joined us for some maritime fun in and around Glasgow.

We also had a SUPERB lunch in Roganos (1930s interior by QM craftsmen in QM style), and spent a long time up the Titan crane - complete with QE2 story badges.

Some more photos here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/lightbody/

I think Myles might be too bashful to post this himself.  You know what he's like.  So I'm doing it for him!

Picture attached is Myles with QM2 Captain Nick Bates (a former QE2 captain too of course) - Myles presented him with a pair of QE2 story badges with which he was delighted.  He tells me that the forum is very well known on board and even Captain Bates knew of it!  Hello Captain Bates if you're reading this!

Well done Myles!  Keep up the good work!

Apologies to Robert (Waverley) for not uploading this sooner for him.  He actually sent it to me before Myles sent his.

Robert - did you wear the badge for long?  Was there any comment about it?

Well done!

Thanks Rob.  Only wore the badge with the Waverley T- shirt as it stood out well.  Did not receive any comments about the QE2 badge but a few comments about the Waverley logo on the T-Shirt. Usually spotted by passengers from Scotland. Quite a few on the cruise.

There is  a link to the badges in the very first post in this thread - it takes you to Rob's QE2story webpages - and the details are on there.

It costs £5 for 2 of them using 'Paypal'

Any more for any more??

You'll also find that a Google search for QE2 badge or QE2 badges brings that page up right near the top.  (i'm still trying to figure out why pages on the forum itself aren't doing great on Google searches.... )

I can see a trend here where others post where their badges have gone. This could be fun.  Wherever I go wearing my QE2 gear, it inevitably is a conversation starter, of which I am happy to engage in.

Just wondering, are there any more of the badges? I was thinking of getting another set.

The set I currently have is on my bag, and I was thinking of getting another set for pinning on my clothes or something.

I'll be bringing my badges to Hong Kong & Macau next week. So I'll be getting pictures of them there.

Yes there are "some" badges still left. And when they are sold out no more will be produced.

Hey Myles
The badges are a Limited Edition!

Hurry up and get yours, everybody - These are now officially known as 'Collectors Items'
Not long before they'll become very rare indeed.
'Vintage' - in fact Smiley

Yes, Myles!
Some of them have even circumnavigated the Mediterranean,
and before and after making the return voyage to/ from North of Scotland!
Did any make it across the United States?
This surely must be a record!

For anyone living within the EU, a normal bank transfer, even between Euro and Sterling, is free of charge, so long as the correct IBAN and BIC details are indicated.

The IBAN is the International Bank Identifier Number (probably a slightly longer number incorporating the relevant branch number and bank account number -- this should now be indicated on the normal bank statements)

The BIC (Bank Identifier Code) is what used to be known as the SWIFT code. Probably also given on the bank statement.

Once you have both of those, Bob (or rather, Myles) is your uncle! To my mind, it's by far the easiest way of moving money from one account to another. And I can do it online, which makes it all very handy.

Myles, are you willing to let us have your IBAN and BIC details (in a PM if you prefer)? As for me, I am ready to order my next set of badges!

Follow up... the Paypal page that opens when you click "buy now" on our badges page, deliberately tries to lead you into siging in / joining PayPal.

However if you look for "Don't have a PayPal account?  Use your credit card or bank account (where available)." on the middle-left of the page, you can continue without a PayPal account using your bank or credit/debit card.

Myles, are you willing to let us have your IBAN and BIC details (in a PM if you prefer)? As for me, I am ready to order my next set of badges!

I have no idea on earth about bank transfers,Its something l have never done.  But if paypal is a problem for anyone please do feel free to email me and something can be sorted out, Payment in kind can even be an option but perhaps we should not go down that route on here.... Lips sealed

Here's some snaps from Ali, on board the Christmas & New Year cruise on Ye Olde Curiositie Shippe queen Victoria.

She says their upgraded cabin is a long way forward, under the bridge.  That when she gets off, she doesn't turn around to look at the ship, and doesnt want to take photos of it, that it was very bouncy and crashy last night, and they've had to change their itinerary due to the weather, and that Thomas Quinones was giving it laldy on the dance floor even before they'd left Southampton!

I really don't like the ship, but I'm very jealous of Ali's fab trip as we cope with the snow.

What does it say about this ship that we're in La Coruna & I have no desire to get off the ship & take pics of what she looks like?! however I can see Black Watch from the balcony & she looks lovely :$ badge went to Captain's welcome party last night 'undercover' on my handbag for a photo opportunity :-D

One of the badges found it's way into the hands of Thomas Quinones after the Midnight Mass service on Christmas Eve.  Cool
I'm sure it was just what he has always wanted.......

More pics to follow from TheQE2Badge onboard QV for Christmas  Grin

Oh Myles, will have to order new ones.  My badges mysteriously disappeared onboard QM2.  I never got to photograph with them while onboard.  It was definitely pinned on as I stepped on the gangway but once I got to my stateroom I couldn't find either of them.

I do hope that they show up some day and some QE2 lover finds them on their QM2 journey!

Congratulations - That's fantastic!

Well Done - to you both!!

QE2 would be just so pleased that not only did you visit her,
you've been to her 'other' old home too!
