Vships can be viewed from www.vships.com which tells you about them, but does not mention QE2. Apparently they are a world-wide firm employing approx 24,000 crew, 1,600 shore staff from their 70 world offices. They manage approx 1,000 ships for various other companies. Since they are a professional ship-handling business, I guess they know how to look after a laid-up ship.
So, maybe they did pay for Captain Warwick's trip, the fact that they employed him makes me think they care a bit about the ship and her history.
