So the remaining items of QE2 / Cunard crockery disappeared into the skips (had we but known and "saved" some of them...)...

I really liked the plain white and gold crockery which was in use (I believe) in all three grills for the past decade or so. Wedgewood I think.

Mauretania had its variation on the same theme, in a slightly more fussy style.

Caronia, I cannot remember...

Then, there was the Lido crockery, also used in the Queen's Room (attached to the Lido for the purposes of afternoon tea). I never really grew attached to that, but liked it in use.

There must have been a lot of different crockery before these came in. The other day, when attending a meeting, I got completely distracted, when I noticed the upturned cup in front of me. The staff had just entered the room to fill these cups with coffee for us... I whipped out my camera and took a quick picture before they could do so, as the bottom of the cup showed the magic word "Steelite"!

Steelite was first produced for QE2 :

What other crockery can you remember over the years? Which did you like best?
And what sort of crockery did the QE2 crew use in their own facilities?

Who can forget the (in)famous blue mugs from the Pavillion, which have already attracted many comments elsewhere on the forum?  OK, so not quite in the same league admittedly but part of the memory all the same.

Great post btw Isabelle and agree, if only we had managed to acquire a piece or 2, purely for historical reasons you understand!
