' I had just left another ship.  An Esso tanker as I was nearly always on Cargo ships and tankers until I joined the QE2. This is what happened.  We were within sight of the QE2 in the distance and the Chief Officer called me up to the bridge and pointed out the QE2 in the distance and said "That's the next ship" you should go on.  I was Officers steward on the tanker.  I signed off and went home on leave....'

There is an article titled 'Queen Elizabeth ll' by J.M Dale.
He writes about visiting QE2 when she was being fitted out in John Brown's at Clydebank, and about his father - also an engineer,  who worked with John Rannie - Yard Manager at John Brown's.

Amazing!  Take the galley tour video with the somellier.  Although it's QM2, much is the same on QE2. 
Judging by a clock saying 10.30, it's shortly after breakfast service ended and there is a lot of activity cleaning, which is scrupulously done three times a day.
