Similar occasion -- just one cruise earlier. Such a good public speaker, Ian McNaught, and so good at knowing what his listeners were feeling...

I believe he he couldnt continue with cunard as his love for qe2 was shattered when she was retired. Nothing else could compare to what he loved.

I always found Mcnaught to be a very friendly man who made time to talk to his passengers. I  had hoped he would have been made commodore and I think it was disgraceful of Cunard not to give him the new QE knowing what a popular capatain he was.
