'Fraid that Costa Luminosa's tied up behind the ship between her and QE2
Does anyone know whether the 'other' ship has a stern webcam?

The other ship is Aida Diva and it has no stern webcam, Rosie.

Hello Citrail
I can see what you mean - well spotted!
Is it the weather conditions?  A raindrop on the lens of the bow webcam?
(the lens is definitely wet)
QE2's hull looks a bit as if she's been done over with a white rinse?!
Maybe QE2_DXB will let us know.....
Rosie.

I wondered if there was something moored behind her, but there's nothing showing on the AIS website, although I realise that cannot be relied upon.

It's difficult to tell!
Like you, my first thoughts were that it could be a smaller ship - white,
with QE2's funnel rising splendidly behind and above it...
It's in pretty bad light too.
There doesn't seem to be any other ship listed...
I wonder whether it could be Visitors having a good look at QE2?!

I dont thing theres anything behind the QE2,but it does look a bit white there, maybe its just the dirty cam, maybe we should wait for later when the lights go on.

I would say its dirt, as it seems to be very filthy! But like Louis says, only time will tell, hopefully when the lights come on.

Hello Matt,
No ships with webcams today...hopefully it won't be long before the next one comes along!
(One good thing about all the media speculation - her owners will be needing good publicity for her,
so maybe some images of her interior could be made available!)

The other good news is that Costa Europa is on her way back to Dubai, with the number of days she spends in port, they most likely will her astern of QE2 again Grin

Its great to see the QE2 again! The Costa Europa is directly astern of QE2, as of Feb 12th.
This looks like the closest the Europa has been to the QE2. Its great to have such a close up 'Live' feed!

Hope everyone on the forum is well!

Matt

Hello Matt

Aah, that's 'a first' - and much appreciated!

Interesting - on your the first image that you posted this morning (UK time)
there weren't signs of any 'tying up' lines astern...
Then on the next, they appeared - and now it's tricky to see them!
Maybe she's wanting to 'break free'!
Rosie.

Rosie, you are correct, and i didnt notice it before! The bow lines were present and have now vanished! They are still not there this morning. Take a look!

Does anyone have any idea why this is the case?

She's definitely well tied up astern here!
Two lines from directly above and through the 'bit of open hull' over 'Elizabeth'
Isn't it great to have such a good 'close-up' view?!

Yes, maybe they have been, they are clearly visable in some, and then not others. Either the camera is playing tricks on us, or they changed the ropes and positions or something? It would be nice to know! I'd just love to see her cast off and sail for just a few hours so we know shes still kicking!

The lines are surely in this image Rosie - QE2 at Dusk. The crane is also out of view on the Costa Europa, so i'd imagine she may be departing soon!

Hello!

Someone on the Costa ship knows what we want! The bridgecam has been rotated slightly so that we can see the starboard side of our Queen a little more than we could previously. Look at the beautiful shadow that she is casting on the wharf!

 Thank you Costa Europa crew!

No Peter, the one facing the Bow of the AIDAdiva is the Costa Luminosa. This ship visits Dubai weekly, and we have numerous shots of the QE2 from the Luminosa bridgecam. The one that is being named in Dubai next week is the Costa Deliziosa. So hopefully, with the arrival of Deliziosa, we will have 3 Costa ships that 'keep and eye' on the QE2!

The AIDAdiva has now departed, and QE2 can be seen from Costa Luminosa. QE2 appears to be in the same location as previous, and has not been turned around. Hopefully they change this for the naming of Costa Deliziosa!
