Here are some webcam images joined together. That water drop is a pain!

Jem, i have about 4 more images of her arriving, that dont include the QE2. I started saving from when she entered the harbour, if you want them for the youtube photo gallery?

And Louis, you are right, they should care a little more about making an image, especially when so many people are in their home city, from across the world to see the naming of the Deliziosa!

Oh Matt!
Thanks for the link.
Watching the live feed with the focus on something so completely different,
glimpsing (for half a second) QE2 just yards away and looking so lonely....
This  is simply heartbreaking!

Thanks for the offer Matt but thats OK. The link is great, such a shame our poor QE2 is not the one at the center of attention! I bet she feels like shouting 'What about the real Queen here! I hope her horn gets stuck on,on Smiley

You are both very welcome! I think you will both love this webcam image i just retrieved from the Costa Deliziosa, of QE2 at Dusk. A lovely image indeed!

Glad that water drop has vanished from the lens!

She really does Rosie, or they need to stop conserving that little bit more energy Tongue

But she looks quite lively tonight i think, very bright. Maybe it’s the new Deliziosa Webcam!?

In the top one of those three pictures ( 14.35GMT ) it does look as if both sides are illuminated but only the starboard side in the lower two pictures?

She does really only have one funnel floodlight working!

It would have been such good publicity for her owners,
they missed a great opportunity today...
The main VIP of Fincantieri was there, together with Sheik Mohammed
and lots of others, wouldn't you think QE2 needed to have been involved?
Yet - she's stuck up in the 'corner', with half a funnel light
and no-one able to admire her great bow!

I'm finding the days events quite hard to take I must admit.  Very sad here. Compared to the ignored ship at the end of the dockside, that run of the mill cruise ship is just nothing.  My father will be spinning in his grave tonight.

However, any thoughts of them raising QE2's profile by turning her around, or them moving closer to her or something were definitely not going to happen!  Costa would NOT be happy for attention to turn away from their newest ship's big day, and the expense of turning her would be significant!  The people who are trying to keep QE2 going, and to find a solution for her, have far bigger worries on their mind, I'd imagine, just now than spotlight bulbs or Costa festivities...   I am still mindful that the current situation has been far too good to be true for a very long time indeed... it simply can't continue!  (although I'd love it to).

Thanks to you all for finding & posting these photos, its great to be able to log in here and see you've all been doing the hard work - good work everybody, keep it up!

It's a good point about the new Costa ship Rob. Don't suppose they would want to be upstaged by the "old" ship. After all Costa is owned by Carnival. Sad

 No worries Rob.

Costa Deliziosa, the day after the naming ceremony, has been moved back further from QE2. To the new cruise terminal i suppose!

Wake up guys this was Costa Party for their new ship, why do you think they wanted to invite the QE2? And as for Nahkeel their world is money making and no feelings to something.

The QE2 has a lot of fans but sadly not many in Dubai. And as time goes by she will slowly slip away from peoples minds ( not from her true fans).  Sad

Looks like they've moved Luminosa back a bit Sad

and there's more bad news here.

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20100226/twl-british-tourists-hurt-in-cruise-line-3fd0ae9.html

I suspect this may interfere with our regular views of QE2 Sad  however that seems a bit inconsequential when you realise what's happened

Following on from the tragic incident reported above involving Costa Europa, it seems like we've seen the last of her in Dubai.
The Europa is undergoing repairs estimated to take about a month, then she is due to be charted to Thompson cruises on a long term deal.
So no more nice close images of QE2 from Europa's webcam. Sad

Oh yes, you are correct Ken. Costa Europa has been removed from the Costa website, therefore im sure that she will never return to the fleet!

What will they do for the remaining few cruises she had left? Will there be a replacement ship, or just cancel the cruises? They could use the Saga Rose Wink

Hi all. This may be of interest to you. Nothing seems to be happening to the QE2 at the moment, but she's still there in the same spot in Dubai. At this moment one of the Crystal ships is parked right up to her stern! It's the Crystal Serenity, and you can see the QE2 through her main bridge cam and her port side cam!

The Serenity is in between cruises. She'll be departing from Dubai on Tuesday at 13.00 hours - our time. If you're able to watch it we should be able to get another view of the Queen on the starboard cam as she leaves. Keep your fingers crossed! The cams only update every three minutes.

Isn't that good!
Looks as if the rat-catchers might have been left off some of the lines?
Hope not!
Looking through the stbd cam (image below)
I wonder about those black containers to the right of the 'portacabins' - any ideas - anyone??

I am really, really annoyed! I thought I had something of real interest to show you early this morning! I had been following the progress of the cruise ship Crystal Serenity around the Persian Gulf, knowing she finished her present cruise in Dubai. I was hoping her bridgecams would show something of our beloved Queen. She was due in very early this morning. I was up and had my computer running at 5.30am! I was stunned to find the Serenity had "parked" - facing the right way - right up to the Queen's stern! I was so disappointed, though, that I was not early enough to watch as the ship arrived. I posted a link to it right away, hoping you would enjoy seeing the pictures as well.
However, when I visited here later this morning I found my message had been locked! I have since realized why!
It would seem that the Serenity's true birthing position was not available when she arrived, and she was put behind the Elizabeth until it became vacant! It was fortuitous that this happened because otherwise we would not have had such a good view of our beloved Queen!
I have remedied the situation, though. As I often do on occasions like this, I did two or three "save screens" and saved the pictures! Hehe. I've stuck them into my webspace for you.

Of further interest - The Crystal Serenity is due to depart from here on her next cruise on Tuesday (16th March) at 13.00 hours, our time. If you are interested, and have the time to watch, we MAY get brief shots of the queen as Serenity pulls away.

Watchful eyes on QE2:

NOTE: Today MV Doulos is to be handed over to Singapore based buyer, who plans on preserving the ship.
