Hi All - a warm hello from Adrian here in Sydney. Am so pleased to discover this website - had 3 memorable trips on her & saw her depart from Circular Quay on many World Cruises, including the sad farewell.

For what it's worth here is an email I've just sent to the Southampton Daily Echo:

"A thought to lift the mood: With all the uncertainty of the QE2 's future in Dubai, how about a public campaign to bring her back to Southampton to remain as a floating celebration of Britain's proud cruise ship tradition!

We have a number of notable ships such as the Victory, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, Warrior, Belfast and Great Britain to educate and celebrate naval history. The QE2 would be an adornment to this fine collection.

Seems such a shame to have her languishing in Dubai."

The goss about a possible move to UK is tantalising!
Look forward to future posts.
Best wishes to all for 2010!

Hi Adrian,

I m from melbourne, welcome aboard our forum, you will meet some interesting people and their stories. I was aboard on her final world cruise from sydney, how memorable it was. I shall be boarding the new Queen Elizabeth in Sydney in feb. If you have any photos from her departure in sydney i would love to see them.
